Questions and answers

Who actually does the work when I use this service?

An independent local provider does the work, not Perryofficial Septic. We are a referral service. You tell us what is going on, and we match your request with a provider in our network. The provider talks with you, visits the property, and gives you a quote. You decide whether to hire them. Nothing is decided for you.

What happens after I request an estimate?

Your request goes to a local provider in our network who handles your type of job. They reach out to ask a few more questions. Some may want photos or a short visit first. Then you get a written quote. Start with a quote, read it, and take your time. There is no obligation to say yes.

How do I know if I need septic tank pumping?

Say you notice slow drains, gurgling pipes, or a damp, smelly patch in the yard. These can point to a full tank. Many homes need pumping every few years, but it depends on tank size and how many people live there. A provider can check the tank and tell you what makes sense.

How much does septic or sewer work usually cost?

Costs vary a lot by job. In the U.S., routine tank pumping often runs a few hundred dollars. Septic repairs and sewer line work can range from several hundred to many thousands, depending on access, depth, and damage. Prices differ by area too. Always ask for a written quote and compare what it includes before you agree.

Can I get help if it is an emergency?

If sewage is backing up into your home or pooling in the yard, say so clearly in your request. Many providers can respond quickly to urgent jobs, but availability varies. Request a callback to check provider availability. Keep water use low, avoid flushing, and stay away from standing sewage until help arrives.

How should I choose between providers?

Compare more than price. Ask if the provider is licensed where required, what the quote covers, and how they handle surprises like a hidden crack. A clear written quote is a good sign. If something feels rushed or vague, ask questions. You can always take your time and get another opinion.

Do you help with water well service too?

Some providers in our network also handle water well service, especially for homes with both a well and a septic system. Mention your well in the request form. That way the provider knows what is on the property and can plan the visit. Availability depends on the provider and your location.

Will my homeowners insurance pay for septic or sewer repairs?

It depends on your policy. Some policies may cover sudden damage, such as a backup caused by a covered event, but many do not cover wear and tear or lack of upkeep. Check your policy or ask your insurer. Providers can often help document damage, like taking notes and photos, for a claim. We cannot say what your insurer will decide.
